The Museum of Discovery seeks BIRTHDAY PARTY SUPERVISORS
This is a part-time position; parties usually occur on weekends.
Job Summary: Assist families with birthday parties as outlined in the Birthday Party Manual. Greet guests, administer parties, and prepare party treat bags. Assist Director of Programs with departmental budget management by insuring that supplies are not wasted.
Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age
Education: Must be a High School graduate (or enrolled in high school) "mature" people welcome!
Experience Required: Must have some experience working with children and making presentations.
Special Skills:
Leadership skills
A flair for showmanship, to be used in science demonstrations and some party activities.
Ability to organize and follow through on projects.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrate good customer relations skills in dealing with party family and guests, donors, members, volunteers, museum visitors and staff.
Job Responsibilities:
Prepare party room with appropriate supplies and decorations
Greet guests upon arrival
Provide educational presentation for specified theme
Complete appropriate crafts/activities
Obtain guest count and report to the front desk
Serve refreshments to party guests
Maintain supply closet in a neat and orderly fashion; report supplies that are low
Thoroughly clean room and all auxiliary areas used
Ensure treat bags are assembled
Assist party family with carrying gifts
Other duties as assigned
