Thanks to our friends at the Arkansas Press Association, the Museum of Discovery was able to give away three sets of tickets to this Sunday's LORD OF THE DANCE performance at Robinson Center. Museum of Discovery's Arkansas Discovery Network Recognized!

We’re so excited that our Arkansas Discovery Network (our statewide outreach “arm”) was mentioned in testimony presented to the House Committee on Science & Technology!


Thursday, March 4, 2010, Ellen Futter, President of the American Museum of Natural History in New York (AMNH), testified to the House Committee on Science and Technology about the importance of informal education to STEM (Science, Technology, Math) education of our children. While the major portion of the testimony was about the achievements of the AMNH in science education and teacher professional development, she did mention three other “exemplary” informal science education as “islands of innovation” across the country. One of those mentioned was the Arkansas Discovery Network. Though it is brief, it is significant that such a well-respected institution has recognized our work. Arkansas Business of the Year Finalists!

The Museum of Discovery was thrilled to know we were a finalist in the Arkansas Business 2010 Non-Profit Organization of the Year! We didn’t win but we were honored to be included. And we think our representatives looked pretty snazzy!
